Sundown

Sundown

Camarillo, California

Fantasy Editorial Series

Some sessions start with a location.
This one started with a dress.

The moment I saw it, I knew it needed space to move. I pictured open road, dry hills, golden light, and that feeling of standing in the middle of nowhere with something beautiful unfolding around you.

That vision came to life with Becca. The dress had so much movement, and once she stepped into it, everything just clicked. The white boots gave it a little edge, and the light brought the whole story together. She said she felt like a goddess in it, and that feeling carried through every frame.

Even though this spot was local, it photographed like it could have been somewhere far beyond Southern California. That is one of my favorite things about creating. Finding beauty close to home and using a familiar place in a completely different way.

The dramatic rock formations, the curve of the road, the warm tones in the landscape, and the softness of the dress made the whole scene feel almost cinematic.

As the sun dropped lower, the light became such a big part of the story. The flare, the warmth, the movement of the dress against the landscape. Sundown just felt right.

This is why I love editorial portrait work so much. It gives me the freedom to start with a simple idea and see where it takes us, while still keeping the person in front of my lens at the center of it.

Sundown is one of my favorite creative sessions from this summer. It started with a dress and became something I knew I would want to remember.

If you have ever wanted a portrait session that feels a little more artful, a little more fashion inspired, and completely personal, this is exactly the kind of session I love creating.

An open road and one unforgettable dress.

About This Editorial

Photographed in Camarillo, California, Sundown began with one dramatic dress and the idea of using a familiar location in a completely different way. Open road, rock formations, golden light, and movement came together to create an editorial that felt cinematic, feminine, and full of possibility.
